BOSTON -- Kristaps Porzingis and the Boston Celtics wasted no time taking control of Game 1 in the NBA Finals on Thursday night in Boston. The Celtics held the Dallas Mavericks to just 24% shooting in the first quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 105-91 victory.

Porzingis led the way for the Celtics with 25 points, while Jayson Tatum added 23 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Grant Williams also chipped in a career-high 27 points off the bench.

The Celtics took a quick 10-point lead in the first quarter and never let Dallas get closer than six points the rest of the way.

The Celtics now lead the series 1-0 and will host Game 2 on Sunday night.
