Madrids European Cup Dominance Continues With 15th Champions League Title

Madrid's European Cup dominance continues with 15th Champions League title

A record-extending victory against Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid's reputation as the undisputed kings of the European Cup continues to grow, with the Spanish giants securing their 15th title in emphatic fashion on Saturday night. A 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in Lisbon saw Carlo Ancelotti's side extend their remarkable record in the competition, and further cement their status as one of the most successful clubs in football history.

A hard-fought victory

The match itself was a hard-fought affair, with both sides playing their part in an entertaining encounter. Dortmund started the brighter of the two sides, and took the lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's fine strike in the 29th minute. However, Real Madrid responded well to the setback, and equalised just six minutes later through Cristiano Ronaldo's header. The Portuguese forward was then on hand to give his side the lead for the first time in the 48th minute, with Gareth Bale adding a third in the 64th minute to seal the victory.

Real Madrid's victory was their fourth in the last five years, and it further underlined their dominance in the competition. The Spanish giants have now won more European Cups than any other club, and their record of success shows no signs of abating. With a squad packed full of world-class talent, Real Madrid will be confident of continuing their success in the years to come.
